(Well, about Brett Varney)I am a veteran programmer and software developer with over 18 years of experience. I have been a software trainer, custom programmer, database designer, system/process analyst, troubleshooter, and documenter. I have worked for small companies, branches of international companies, and local and federal governments. I stopped being an employee mostly because I find working with non-profits and small businesses much more satisfying personally, and is a niche that is largely ignored by my former employers. Starting about 10 years ago I was creating database systems and custom programs for consulting firms, and my time was being billed at $100-150/hr. They wouldn't even consider a project that was less than $50,000. Of course, that limit leaves a lot of needs unanswered, especially for not-for-profit organizations. So I have decided to provide the same experience and professionalism as the "big guys", at less than half the price. Plus, my goal is to break the dependency on us "high-paid" consultants, leaving you free and independent.
